Dan Allen Talks Up The Film, Says It Will Be Terryfying

I am sure you are all thinking that this movie won't actually be that good, and I wouldn't blame you, I am thinking the same, but director Dan Allen is certainly building it up, describing it as Cujo meets Jurassic Park.

He recently had this to say:

It’s gonna be terrifying. When people see a deer in the wild after this film, they’re gonna run for the hills. This film is about the death of childhoods as much as it’s gonna ruin childhoods. Expect bloodshed, tears and rabbits… and one mean killer deer. At last, the British countryside will finally get its Godzilla

What’s chilling about horror film creatures like Cujo, dinosaurs, and Godzilla is never knowing when they’ll turn up. It looks like Bambi: The Reckoning will have the same qualities as a bloodthirsty animal lurking in the darkened forest.

Teaser Trailer Releases for Bambi: The Reckoning

The teaser trailer for Bambi: The Reckoning has left me craving for a film I never knew I needed. This horror retelling of Felix Salten's Bambi, a Life in the Woods book, which served as the inspiration for the classic Disney animated film that scarred me as a child, promises to give us the long-awaited vengeance for our beloved deer.

The film will follow Xana (played by Roxanne McKee) and her son Benji (played by Tom Mulheron), who find themselves in a car wreck and are soon hunted down by a vicious killing machine - none other than Bambi himself, but in a very different form than we remember.

This British indie slasher, due to be released in July, is the third installment of the Twisted Childhood Universe released by Umbrella Entertainment, following the already released Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey films.

And the team has more in store for us this year, with "Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare" and Pinocchio: Unstrung still to come. All of these twisted tales will come together in Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble in 2025 alongside other childhood characters being turned into villains.
