Jodie Comer is set to star in Danny Boyle's new zombie movie

Jodie Comer and Charlie Hunnam have been announced as the lead actors in Danny Boyle's highly anticipated sequel to the cult classic 28 Days Later, titled 28 Years Later.

Production is set to begin on an exciting new chapter in the post-apocalyptic saga, boasting an impressive $60 million budget to bring its ambitious vision to life. 

Jodie Comer, known for her performance in Killing Eve, is making waves with her latest foray into the world of film. Her casting in 28 Years Later marks a significant step forward for Comer, as she continues to balance her success on television with increasingly prominent roles in film, including her upcoming appearance in Jeff Nichols' The Bikeriders.

Although details of the storyline are being kept secret, rumors are circulating that the movie will mark the beginning of a trilogy written by Alex Garland and directed by Boyle. The sequel, which may begin filming next year, promises to be more than just a continuation of the original film, but rather a completely new narrative.

The film is set to release in June 2025
