Will we be seeing Brenda return to the franchise?

Brenda has been a fan favorite from the films thanks to her comedic timing, and in a recent chat with TV Insider, the actress shared her excitement about the Wayans brothers returning and hinted at the possibility of playing Brenda again.

Anna is great. I'm just very excited to know that the Wayans, who actually started the project out of their idea, are back on board and at the helm again. I'm excited for them. We'll see if Brenda is in this new world. I'm thrilled at the possibility that the band could get back together again. That would be fun.

Scary Movie Getting Rebooted

After it was announced The Blair With Project is getting a reboot, it was revealed today that Paramount and Mirimax are rebooting the Scary Movie franchise, with Neal H. Moritz, the producer of the Fast & Furious, teaming up with Paramount to breathe new life into the series.

The Scary Movie reimagining is slated to begin production in early 2025 and is set to hit theaters in 2026.

The popular franchise, first released in 2000, took aim at popular slasher films such as Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and Friday the 13th, and the franchise continued to take aim at other popular movies with the sequels that followed.

Despite mixed success for the subsequent films, the original Scary Movie was a box office sensation, grossing an impressive $278 million on a modest $19 million budget.

The last addition to the series, Scary Movie V, which starred Simon Rex and Ashley Tisdale, was co-directed by Zucker and Malcolm D. Lee in 2013. [Scary Movie 6 on IMDB]
