Julia Garner to Star In Apartment 7A
Rosemary's Baby, a legendary horror title, is getting a prequel, and it's heading straight to Paramount+ later this year.
Titled Apartment 7A, the prequel will delve deeper into the backstory of the 1968 classic and will feature Julia Garner in the lead role.
The original film, starring Mia Farrow and John Cassavetes, follows a young couple's journey as they move into a New York City apartment building in hopes of starting a family.
As Rosemary becomes pregnant, she becomes increasingly suspicious of those around her, believing sinister intentions lurk beneath their actions.
Regarded as one of the greatest horror films ever made, Rosemary's Baby offers a disturbing exploration of personal autonomy through the lens of a woman's paranoia.
Notably, the movie gained infamy for its alleged cursed production, with reports of strange occurrences and unfortunate incidents surrounding the cast and crew.
Joining Julia Garner in Apartment 7A are Dianne Wiest, Jim Sturgess, and Kevin McNally.
The official tagline reads:
Apartment 7A will be set in 1965 New York City, and tells the story prior to the legendary horror classic Rosemary’s Baby, exploring what happened in the apartment before Rosemary moved in. When a struggling, young dancer suffers a devastating injury, she finds herself drawn in by dark forces when a peculiar, well-connected, older couple promises her a shot at fame.
