Release Date
The upcoming sequel to Parker Finn's Smile is set to release in time for Halloween, on October 18th 2024.
The original movie, released in 2023, drew from Finn's earlier short film, Laura Hasn't Slept, proved to be quite the success with a theatrical release by Paramount, as it raked in an impressive $217 million in global box office earnings and helped set the stage for Smile 2.
Plot Details
What we know so far is the plot is going to be based around a new character played by Naomi Scott, who is a pop star. In a teaser trailer that was played at CinemaCon behind closed doors, it apparently showed Scott's character going into her dressing room and a man (Played by Lukas Gage) creepily smiling at her.
So not much to go on right now! But I am sure more will be revealed soon. But Finn has said that he wants it to be different.
For me, as a filmmaker, I never want to retread and just do something I’ve already done again the exact same way. In a universe where there could be any potential — more story to tell from Smile, I’d wanna make sure it was surprising and different and not what people were expecting after the first one
Along with the above mentioned cast members, the film will also include Kyle Gallner, Rosemarie DeWitt, Dylan Gelula, Raúl Castillo and Miles Gutierrez-Riley.
