After the massive success of the first movie, Crawl is getting a sequel

Alexandre Aja Speaks About Crawl 2

Alexandre Aja recently spoke about the status regarding Crawl 2 and had this to say:

The problem in the New York setting is how we're going to explain [why] that many gators are here. And that's what we're working on,

But it's very exciting... I really enjoyed doing Crawl – it was a very hard movie to put together because of the water and the storm and everything.
And somehow, enough time has passed that I completely forgot how terrible it was to be in the water all day long, so I'm ready to put my wetsuit back on.
This is a movie I am really looking forward to and the first movie was a pleasant surprise as I didn't expect much before watching it!

Crawl 2 Has Been Confirmed

The 2019 natural horror movie Crawl proved to be a massive success, with Kaya Scodelario and Barry Pepper facing off against some alligators while trapped in their home during a hurricane, and it ended up making over $90 million on a $14 million budget, so it is no surprise details of a sequel has now been confirmed as director Alexandre Aja is officially on board for Crawl 2, with filming set to begin later this year.

While there’s no official word on the plot yet, there are rumors that the action might move to New York City and Scodelario and Pepper aren’t expected to return for the sequel, but Sam Raimi, who produced the first film, will be back again for this one.

In the meantime, Aja has another horror thriller, Never Let Go, coming out in September. The movie stars Halle Berry as a mother fighting to protect her family from an unknown threat.

Let's hope it is another good animal based horror movie, and doesn't end up like Under Paris

If the sequel is a massive success again, we might even see a franchise come out of it all.

More details on Crawl 2 as they arrive.
